I have taught creative nonfiction and life writing in a range of settings, from schools, universities and writing retreats to conferences, literature festivals and prisons. I can assemble life writing courses for beginners through to experienced writers, ranging from weeklong retreats to one day focussed workshops.

Over the last decade, I have run courses or given talks at Moniack Mhor, The Garsdale Retreat, The University of Salford’s Festival of Research, the Northern Light Writers Conference, the Prestwich Arts Festival, Victoria Baths Weekend of Words, Withernsea High School and HMP Garth and the Greater Manchester Fringe Development Conference. I have also taught the creative nonfiction module to undergraduate students at The University of Lancaster.

I offer limited mentorship for memoir and essay writers (availability from summer 2025).
